About Us

DripStop™ was created on real job sites to solve a common problem—paint drips that run over the rim, down the side of your handheld container or paint can, and onto the floor, leaving behind a mess. DripStop catches those drips, so you can focus on the job, not the cleanup.

Hi, I'm Mike Pitcher, founder of DripStop.

I've spent years as a professional painter and owner of a family-owned painting company. After years of dealing with paint running down the sides of containers, I kept searching for a product that would solve the problem, but nothing existed.

So I made my own.

What started as a simple idea using painter's tape eventually became countless prototype designs, extensive testing, and partnerships with local CAD designers, 3D printing specialists, and manufacturers. After testing a variety of materials, I chose durable polypropylene because it enables a secure snap-fit design, resists paint buildup, allows wet paint to rinse off easily, lets dried paint peel away cleanly, and provides the durability needed to withstand the demands of real job sites.

DripStop wasn't created in a boardroom. It was developed on actual painting jobs by someone who needed a solution. Every design decision was made with one goal: create a tool that works day after day for professional painters, DIYers, and anyone who wants to paint with less mess.

I'm not a product company that discovered painting. I'm a painter who finally built the tool I needed for years.

Thanks for checking out DripStop. I hope it makes your next painting project cleaner, easier, and a little more enjoyable.

Give it a try. I think you'll wonder how you ever painted without it!

Here's the very first version—just painter's tape and an idea:
